A Sydney mother who entered the words “Red Tube” into Google after trying to find a stockist for her favourite Paw Paw ointment has expressed shock and outrage at the results in the search engine.
The mum-of-two says she uses the famous ointment as a lip conditioner, but also finds it handy for other uses around the home, including mosquito bites, sunburn and minor cuts and burns. Many consumers know that the ointment comes in a well recognised red tube.
“I use a lot of the stuff, and I thought it would be worthwhile searching online to see if I could buy some of it online in bulk at a cheaper price than the chemist, but googling red tube brought up some sickening results,” the mum told Broken News.
“I had never heard of the Red Tube website, but now that I’ve seen it, I’m pretty outraged to be honest.”
The woman says she was embarrassed as she scrolled trough page after page of pornographic google results, trying to find a link so that she could purchase her favourite lip conditioning ointment.
“I thought that I should make the search more specific and add more words, so that I got a better result. I use the Paw Paw ointment as a lip moisturiser, so I searched for red tube moist instead, but to be honest, adding the word moist just made everything much worse.”
The woman has told Broken News she will be shopping in store for the product, rather than searching for it online in the future.
